Intention

Our goal: sketching a map of the broad spectrum of homeopathy

Expanding Spectrum

Since the 19th century, there have been various schools of thought and methods within homeopathy, which were often at odds with one another. For instance, some referred to themselves as ‘genuine’ homeopaths, whilst labelling their opponents ‘bastard’ homeopaths. This diversity has grown even greater in recent decades, though fortunately there is also more tolerance today. That said, it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain one's bearings, even when considering only the different systems and methods relating to the plant kingdom. Sometimes one reads about an interesting case involving an unusual plant and is unable to follow the reasoning behind the prescription.

Guide to Orientation

A key feature of the print edition of HOMEOPATHIC SPECTRUM was to present remedy families and groups from the perspective of different systems, using case studies. With the new online edition, we now aim to summarise the fundamentals of these systems and methods in a specific section entitled ‘Tools and Methods’. This source of information is meant to help you better understand case analyses and view remedy groups from different perspectives. It will thus serve as a vital supplement to our thematic issues, which remain at the heart of Homeopathic Spectrum.

Materia Medica Updates

Through our themed editions on groups of remedies, we aim to gradually develop a modern, practice-oriented materia medica in collaboration with our renowned authors. One of the advantages of an online format is that an edition can be expanded upon after its initial publication. This allows the presentation of a remedy group, such as the Imponderables, to be gradually enriched with further case studies and remedies that were not initially included. Experienced homeopaths among our readers are invited to submit their own contributions on the groups of remedies presented, which may then be included in our collection of articles following peer review. In this way, our research into materia medica is set to become a continuous work in progress.

Aude Sapere

We aim to bring together practical experience from different traditions of homeopathy, from various countries, continents and cultures, whilst keeping pace with current developments and insights in homeopathy, without straying from Hahnemann’s solid foundations. His spirit of inquiry and his commitment to continuous development are a great source of inspiration for HOMEOPATHIC SPECTRUM.
